Getting started

Link your bank

Connect your accounts via Plaid in under a minute. Read-only by design — no transactions ever leave your device.

OneTruth Money uses Plaid to read account balances and transactions from your bank — the same secure layer Venmo, Robinhood, and Cash App use.

What you'll see

  1. Open OneTruth Money → Settings → Accounts → Add account.
  2. Search for your bank or institution.
  3. Sign in to your bank inside Plaid's secure flow. Your credentials never touch our servers.
  4. Choose which accounts to share (checking, savings, credit cards).
  5. Done. Your balances appear in seconds; transactions stream in over the next few minutes.

Read-only by design

OneTruth Money requests read-only access. We can see balances and transactions; we cannot move money, transfer funds, or change your account settings. Plaid enforces this on their side and we enforce it again on ours.

What we store

  • Account names, account types, and the last four digits of account numbers (so you can tell them apart).
  • Transactions: amount, date, merchant, category.
  • Current balance and available balance.

We do not store your bank login, credentials, or any data Plaid hasn't already shared with us. Read the Privacy promise for the full breakdown.

If a connection breaks

Banks sometimes invalidate Plaid sessions — usually after you change a password or 2FA setting. When that happens, OneTruth Money shows a "Re-link this account" badge in Settings → Accounts. Tap it, sign in again, and you're back online.
